The future of oil and gas is at a turning point. Everybody can see that business is changing but where will it be in the next 15-20 years? Oil and gas companies need to revisit their strategy and facilitate digital transformation. New digital technology capabilities offer the opportunity to leapfrog ahead of the competition. By now, most oil and gas companies have realised the importance of leveraging technology advancements, however, finding the right technology partner for this journey to the future is not easy…Digital transformation is rapidly becoming the very basis for competition, but employee culture, security concerns, legacy solutions and the need to focus on core operational priorities are all in the way of evolving in this new digital age.

The agenda for both Upstream and Downstream will consist of two parts: in the 1st half day we ask you to present and co-create some thinking together. It also allows you to get acquainted for the rest of the program. This discussion and co-thinking will be moderated by the Microsoft Oil & Gas team and supported with a visual artist to translate the key stories in a drawing of a type of journey. The 2nd part of the agenda consists of a full day and will be more traditional however we have made a clear choice for the topics as a combination of presentations from the Eco-system of Partners/ISV's and customers with enough time left for discussion & debate.

Open Biography...

Mark leads Maana for digital transformation in the upstream space. With 20 years of experience in and around the oil & gas industry, he has a passion for earth sciences and technology which saw him evolve from drilling platforms to technology platforms.

Mark studied geology at The University of Manchester in the UK, on graduation he started working for Halliburton Drilling Operations, then moved to Japanese technology company Hitachi Data Systems before returning to Halliburton to work for Landmark. He then was headhunted for the global role of Digital Upstream Lead at Accenture where his combined experience of upstream operations and technology enabled him to drive change.
